Clemson Tigers quarterback Deshaun Watson is one of the top players in the country going into the 2016 college football season. It certainly seems like everyone has a lot of confidence in his abilities and last year’s national runner-up’s chances moving forward.
ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit was asked who he thinks would win in a hypothetical Clemson vs. Florida State matchup. Herbie was pretty straightforward with his answer, picking the Tigers because of the Watson factor.

He then went on to answer another question saying that Clemson has a shot at the national championship as long as Deshaun Watson stays healthy.
@KirkHerbstreit Do you think Clemson has another shot at the title this season?

As long as #4 is back absolutely!!! Offenses will be as good as there is in CFB in '16! https://t.co/XTHOktJnwO

Going into the 2016 season, everyone believed that the Tigers’ season rides on how well Watson, who finished third in the 2015 Heisman Trophy voting, plays for the team. Herbstreit doesn’t seem to be hiding that at all.
During his sophomore season last year, Watson threw for 4,109 yards and 35 touchdowns against just 13 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,105 yards and 12 touchdowns on the year.
If Watson stays healthy, it certainly seems like the Tigers have a great chance of getting back to the ACC Championship Game, especially with a win on the road against Florida State.
