Every year, we hear a story of an over eager sports fan placing a large sum of money on one team’s unlikely chances of winning the championship. It looks like it is all on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year.
One Las Vegas bettor decided it would be a good idea to place a $9,000 bet on the Bucs’ 60-1 odds to win Super Bowl LI this year. The bet came on Thursday at the William Hill Sports Book in the Tuscany Casino.
The payout for the bettor if Tampa Bay makes a miracle win would be $540,000.
60-1 odds are a huge longshot, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have improved over the last two years, tripling their win total from 2014 to 2015. Quarterback Jameis Winston also knows all about winning championships as he led the Seminoles to two ACC titles and the national championship in 2013.
After Leicester City went from 5000-1 odds to British Premier League champions, these odds for the Bucs don’t seem that insurmountable at all.
