The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed their first-round pick, former Florida State star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, to his rookie contract. The franchise officially announced the news on Sunday morning.
Ramsey, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, became the sixth member of the Jaguars rookie class to ink his deal.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ramsey is currently recovering from a small tear to the meniscus and there is no timetable for his return. The newest Jaguar will receive a second opinion on his knee next week.
While it is not known when the Jaguars first-round pick will return to the field, it shows a lot of confidence in him if they were willing to lock in his rookie deal before learning the second doctor’s opinion.
