Cameron Jordan not cleared for OTAs after back surgery

The New Orleans Saints are looking to turn their luck around going into the 2016 season after finishing 7-9 for the second straight year. They may have to deal with top defensive end Cameron Jordan being out for a little while this summer following back surgery.

Jordan had back surgery ahead of the Pro Bowl earlier this year and was not expected to miss much time. However, The New Orleans Advocate reported that he has yet to be cleared for OTAs, which start later this week.

I’m feeling better every day,” Jordan said. “(It’s hard) when you’re supposed to take it down to a slow pace because your inner athlete wants to show out all the time. Still working up to (being full), sadly. As anybody knows once you get injured, you have to go through some rehab time. I’m still—quote, unquote—working up to it.”

During the 2015 season, Cameron Jordan started all 16 games for the Saints and recorded 10 sacks on his way to his second Pro Bowl appearance in five years with the Saints.
