SMU lands Arkansas RB transfer Denzell Evans

The SMU Mustangs had a pretty tough go of things last year as they finished the 2015 season with a 2-10 record. They have received two transfers from the SEC that look to help improve their team with their latest being Arkansas running back Denzell Evans.

The Mustangs received LSU wide receiver Trey Quinn in a transfer on Saturday. Late Sunday night, Rivals.com’s Adam Grosbard confirmed that Evans would be transferring to SMU to continue his career into the future.

Evans will be graduating from Arkansas later on this year, which means he will be able to play immediately for the Mustangs. He will have two years of eligibility left to play.

Denzell Evans redshirted during his true freshman season in 2013 and had minimal playing time during the last two seasons. He only rushed a total of 13 times for 84 yards during his career with the Razorbacks.
