Craig Sager to receive Jimmy V Award for Perseverance

|

Craig Sager has been battling cancer for the last few years. The NBA on TNT analyst recently learned the cancer had returned and was only given a few months to live.

Despite that, Sager has continued to work on television the last few month.

Because of his hardwork and determination while fighting this difficult battle, ESPN announced Sager is going to be honored with the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the ESPYs.

It should be an emotional night for everyone as Sager has been loved by the basketball community for the last few decades.

Throughout his 40-plus year career, Craig Sager has worked extensively with Turner Sports and NBC as an analyst for NBA and the Olympics. He also appears in the NBA 2K video game series alongside reporters Kevin Harlan and Kenny Smith.

The 2016 ESPYs will air on ESPN on Wednesday, July 13.
