OL Tyler Grimsley transferring from Miami

Offensive lineman Tyler Grimsley joined the Miami Hurricanes as a late addition to their 2014 recruiting class alongside Joe Brown. Brown transferred out of the school in January and Grimsley has now joined his former teammate.

Grimsley opted to transfer out of Miami on Tuesday, but there was no specific reason given.

New head coach Mark Richt released a statement on the lineman’s decision to leave Coral Gables.

Tyler has decided to transfer away from our football program in the hopes of gaining more playing time,” Richt said in a statement. “I certainly respect his decision and I wish him nothing but the best in his future college football career.”

Tyler Grimsley was a two-star member of the 2014 recruiting class. He redshirted his freshman year and was said to be a key member of their practice squad last year.
