Video: Duke walk-on DE Danny Doyle surprised with scholarship

|

It is that time of year when walk-ons across the nation will be rewarded for their hard work with scholarships. Duke defensive end Danny Doyle is one of the first examples of just that this offseason.

Duke head coach David Cutcliffe called Doyle to the front of a team meeting and instructed him to call his parents.

When Doyle was speaking with his parents, they informed him of the good news.

Naturally, the Blue Devils released a video of the special moment on YouTube, complete with the phone call to his parents and incredible reaction from his head coach and teammates.

Check it out:

This is only the first of many walk-on videos that will surface over the next few months and, honestly, we can’t wait to see more. These feel-good stories never get old.
