The Mississippi State men’s basketball program is set to take a major loss. On Monday, reports surfaced that Rebels star guard Malik Newman is set to transfer.
CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein was first to report the news.

The news comes off the heels of Newman’s decision to withdraw from the NBA Draft and return to school. He will not, however, be spending his sophomore season in Starksville.
Last season, Newman averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
