Texas lands 2016 five-star PF Jarrett Allen

Shaka Smart is entering his second season with the Texas Longhorns and he seems to be ready to help his team make another big push. They will certainly be helped out by the addition of 2016 five-star power forward Jarrett Allen.

Allen had yet to make his collegiate decision, but he made a late decision to commit to and sign with the Longhorns Friday morning. He chose Texas over Big 12 rival Kansas.

With the addition of Allen, the Longhorns were able to maintain their recruiting class, which is one of the top in the country. He joins the freshman class of Andrew Jones, Jacob Young and James Banks.

Jarrett Allen, an Austin, Texas native, is the fifth-ranked power forward in the country and the fourth-ranked overall player in the state of Texas.

The Longhorns made the Round of 64 in the NCAA Tournament last year, but it certainly looks like they could make a good run this year.
