Muhammad Ali had an impact greater than inside of the boxing ring, so after the world lost him at the age of 74, everyone was celebrating his life and honoring his legacy. And while Ali is a worldwide star, he forever will have the greatest impact on his hometown of Louisville.
Because of his deep ties to the Louisville community, anyone who steps foot in the city can instantly feel his impact. So, fittingly, two of the most prominent sports heads in the city took the time to pay tribute to The Greatest after his passing.
Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino and head football coach Bobby Petrino each released statements regarding Ali.

Muhammad Ali had an impact greater than any athlete the world has seen. It’s great to see everyone honoring everything he stood for.
Rest in Paradise, champ.
