Muhammad Ali supported Phoenix for Final Four

|

Muhammad Ali passed away over the weekend and he will be laid to rest on Friday in his birthplace of Louisville, Kentucky. He passed away in Phoenix, Arizona and it certainly seemed like he was a big piece for the city landing the 2017 Final Four.

On Saturday, just hours after the boxing legend and Phoenix transplant passed away, the city shared a letter on their Final Four Twitter page that supported the city for hosting the event.

It certainly worked as the event will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.

Phoenix was one of the five cities announced to host the NCAA Tournament Final Four in November 2014. Muhammad Ali watched his Louisville Cardinals play in the tournament there in 2012.
