Andrew Luck is the franchise quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. In recent months, there has been plenty of discussion about the two sides coming together to reach a mega-deal that would keep Luck in Indianapolis for the long haul.
Previously, Colts owner Jim Irsay said he was hoping to lock Luck up with a ten-year deal, but it appears as though the two sides are now working on a five- or six-year deal that will be one of the largest contracts we have ever seen in the National Football League.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Luck and the Colts are working on a “blockbuster” extension.
When such a deal is complete, Luck will be the league’s highest paid player.
There is a belief that Luck could end up earning $25 million per year with an extension, so it shows the team is serious about locking up their signal-caller. After all, it was because of Luck that the team was able to part ways with future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.
