Le’Veon Bell failed drug test? Steelers RB denies rumor

Rumors began surfacing on social media that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell was facing a suspension after skipping out on a drug test. Pittsburgh radio host Mark Madden passed along the rumor on Twitter.

However, as far as the Steelers star is concerned, the report is a complete fabrication.

“I haven’t missed any drug tests,” Bell said on Tuesday, according to Jason Mackey of DKPittsburghSports.com. “I haven’t failed any drug tests. I’m completely fine.”

That is good news for the Steelers offense and Bell.

Bell missed the first two games of 2015 due to suspension after an arrest for DUI and marijuana possession. Losing Bell to start the season again would have forced the Steelers to begin the year with De’Angelo Williams, who filled in for Bell last season during his suspension and when Bell went down with an injury.

It will be interesting to see whether anything ever comes from the rumors, but Bell seems to be pretty confident that he is not facing any discipline from the league.
