Michael Vick is not ready to call it a career just yet. In a recent interview, the longtime NFL quarterback let it be known that he is retired and that he is hoping for one more shot in the league.
Vick shared his comments while speaking to the media at the Ron Jaworski Celebrity Golf Challenge.
“I haven’t officially retired,” Vick said, according to Jordan Raanan of NJ Advance Media. “As of right now, it’s pretty much at a stalemate type of thing. Just taking the days as it comes, but most importantly for me, I just have to continue to work out and train. I would love to play this year, suit up for another run at it. I still feel like I could play and there is a lot left in the tank.”
Vick, who has spent the most recent years of his career with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers, is currently on the free agent market.
There is little interest for Vick at this time, but if he is staying in shape, he could receive a call during the preseason if a team suffers an injury under center or is looking to bolster its depth chart.
