The 2016 US Open got off to a rough start with the first round on Thursday cut short due to multiple weather delays. However, Dustin Johnson didn’t allow that to hamper his game on Friday when he made history at the tournament.
On Friday, Johnson, who didn’t tee off for his first round Thursday due to weather, shot an opening round 67 to draw within just one stroke of leader Andrew Landry. He shot that round in historic fashion as he did not post a bogey, something that hadn’t been done since Loren Roberts did so in 1994.

It has also been a pretty good day for the veteran as the rest of the field sat a total of 700 bogeys. This gives him a huge advantage over the rest of the pack.

This gives Dustin Johnson a great chance to win his first major championship in his career. The closest he came to winning a tournament was when he finished second at last year’s US Open.
