Buffalo’s Kunz Stadium getting facelift to match new logo

Earlier this year, the Buffalo Bulls unveiled a new set of logos that the university will use going into the future. To go along with the new changes, Kunz Stadium and Alumni Arena will both be getting updated looks going into the football and basketball seasons.

In April, the school revealed a new interlocking “UB” logo and a bull head spirit mark, reminiscent of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s famous Brahma Bull tattoo. They announced on Monday that new turf at Kunz Stadium and a new design at Alumni Arena would feature the new logos.

From the official Buffalo University website: “The UB Stadium field’s new design will display the interlocking UB at midfield and UB Athletics’ new wordmark ‘Buffalo’ in the end zones.

“The basketball court will feature the interlocking UB at center court and UB Athletics’ new tagline, ‘New York’s Public Powerhouse,’ along the sidelines to emphasize UB’s strength in New York State and its stature as one of the nation’s leading public research universities.”

“UB Athletics is pleased to proudly display our new wordmark and spirit mark on these high-profile venues for our men’s and women’s athletics teams,” director of athletics Allen Greene said. “They reflect our tremendous pride in the university and in our Buffalo community.

“I’m excited that the new surface in UB Stadium will also allow us to improve the recreational facilities in Kunz Stadium for all the students who use UB’s intramural and recreational facilities.”

Both the stadium and the court will be ready for action with their updated looks ahead of each season.
