Possibly the biggest NBA news this week is the Chicago Bulls trading start point guard Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks. Now that Rose has a new team, it is only fitting that he gets a new number.
Center Kevin Seraphin already wears No. 1 for the Knicks, leading to a change for the former Bull. Rose will wear No. 25 and it looks like there is a special reason behind him choosing that number.

It was reported that Rose will wear this number to honor Ben “Benji” Wilson, a Chicago basketball star who was shot and killed by a student from another school back in 1984.
Derrick Rose wore this number during his high school career at Simeon Career Academy, where Wilson was also an alum. This is certainly a great way to honor a late superstar and a great final to nod to his hometown.
