PF Taron Oliver Jr. transfers from Tulane

Less than two years ago, Taron Oliver Jr. was the first commit of Tulane Basketball’s 2014-2015 signing class. Now, the 6-foot-9, 310-pounder will be transferring from the Green Wave.

Verbalcommits.com currently lists the power forward as “transferred from Tulane.”

Oliver Jr. himself took to Twitter to announce his decision to transfer, as well as thank the Tulane community for their support on Saturday morning.

At this point it is unclear why Oliver Jr. made the decision to leave the Tulane program. He has also yet to announce to where he will be transferring and what this means for his college basketball career.

In his one season as a freshman with the Wave, Oliver Jr. was largely ineffective. He played in a total of 17 games, though he started in just one of those. He scored just 2.12 points per game this past season.

Hopefully, Oliver will be added to the roster of a team where he’ll make more of an impact.
