With so many free agents agreeing to pretty ridiculous deals with NBA teams around the league the last few days, one deal that seemed to get swept under the rug Saturday night was a rookie one.
Top 2016 NBA Draft pick Ben Simmons officially signed his deal with the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
There wasn’t much talk between Simmons and his team as the negotiation numbers are set by the league’s collective bargaining agreement. However, most teams usually give that number and more, 120 percent to be exact, and that is what happened Saturday night.

Ben Simmons will likely make $5.9 million this season, which is 120 percent of what the top pick in the draft usually makes in his rookie season. He will get acclimated to league play by playing for the Sixers’ summer league in Utah and Las Vegas.
