At last year’s Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, eight-time champion Joey Chestnut lost the crown to young and upcoming eater Matt Stonie. On Monday, Chestnut became a nine-time champion when he reclaimed the crown as best hot dog eater.
Chestnut won the “Mustard Belt” for a ninth time in his career while also making history at Coney Island. He ate 70 hot dogs, a new record, to knock off Stonie.
Joey Chestnut takes Hot Dog Eating title back, eats world record 70 hot dogs & buns in 10 minutes, Stonie has 53.

Yeah, this is pretty crazy, but for the 101st contest, I would say it has been a successful day overall. Congrats to the most disgusting man in the world, Joey Chestnut.
