Last year, former Vanderbilt football player Brandon Vandenburg was one of four players convicted on rape charges, but he landed a mistrial. However, he was convicted on those charges once again last month and he will now be given sentencing in September.
Vandenburg was found guilty on five counts of aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of unlawful photography. He was considered the ringleader of a rape of an unconscious female Vanderbilt student back in 2014 and he will now be given his sentence on Sept. 30.
Corey Batey, a former Commodore wide receiver, has already by convicted in a retrial while two others are still awaiting their trial.
It can be expected that Brandon Vandenburg will face the harshest punishment after his heavy involvement in the despicable incident.
