TCU’s Denzel Johnson named ‘Best DB in Texas’ by Texas Football

The TCU Horned Frogs are looking to make a big move towards competing in the Big 12 this year and they will certainly use their defensive prowess to do so. One player that will be a big part of that is defensive back Denzel Johnson.

On Friday, the Horned Frogs announced on Twitter that Johnson had been named the “Best DB in Texas” by Dan Campbell’s Texas Football.

This is a huge honor for the rising senior who looks to be making a big move for the team this year.

Johnson was instrumental in helping the Horned Frogs to a big 31-point comeback win against the Oregon Ducks in the Alamo Bowl earlier this year as he broke up a fourth down play in the third overtime to secure the victory.

He has been a big piece for the Horned Frogs over the last three years. Denzel Johnson was a Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2015 after he was fourth on the team with 79 tackles, led the team with 13.5 tackles for loss, while also locking down two sacks and eight pass breakups.
