Monday morning, court documents released said that former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno knew of the abuse Jerry Sandusky committed in 1976 and that he blew the complaints off in 2014 because he wanted to focus on the football season.
Later in the day, a few other former Penn State coaches were named with knowledge of the abuse, including current Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano.
Schiano worked as a graduate assistant and defensive backs coach in the early 1990s, under both Paterno and Sandusky. He, along with Tom Bradley, were named in a deposition that said they witnessed the latter “doing something to a boy in the shower.”
Schiano released a statement that completely denied the claim made by fellow former Penn State coach Mike McQueary. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported his statements on the situation.
In response to deposition, Greg Schiano said: “I never saw any abuse, nor had reason to suspect any abuse, during my time at Penn State.”

Schiano is essentially saying this his former colleague lied under oath, which is a pretty serious charge. This is certainly not the last we have heard of a situation that should have been laid to rest years ago.
