A few weeks ago, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested for assault when home in East Lansing, Michigan. Now, more details seem to have arisen as it was reported that the person he hit was current Michigan State cornerback Jermaine Edmondson.
It was reported that Green had actually got into an altercation with Edmondson when they passed each other in East Lansing that day. Arresting officers said that the former Spartan star openhand slapped the cornerback across the face, which led to his arrest.
From mlive.com: “In statements from the two arresting officers, one reported seeing a taller, black male wearing a white t-shirt “open-handedly slap another black male across the face.” The other officer reported hearing “a loud slap sound.”
The incident occurred amid a crowd “that began to get very loud as people were arguing back and forth” outside Conrad’s.”
Edmondson said that he is looking to press charges in a released statement on Wednesday.

Draymond Green spoke reporters and he said that his lawyers are handling the situation.
“I think when things happen, I think you meet them head on,” Green told the San Jose Mercury News. “My legal team is handling it. It will be resolved really quickly. As a public figure, I just can’t put myself in certain situations. It’s something that I’ll learn from and just move on.”
This is certainly not the end of this situation and it is hard to believe that Green wouldn’t face punishment by the NBA, if he isn’t handed a sentence by the legal system.
