Gary Patterson says RB Shaun Nixon is out for season

The TCU Horned Frogs look like a team that could be one of the best in the Big 12 and possibly in the country this year. However, it looks like they will go forward without possible starting running back Shaun Nixon.

At Monday’s Big 12 Media Days press conference, TCU head coach Gary Patterson took to the podium and talked about his team’s upcoming season. He then mentioned that Nixon suffered an undisclosed injury and would miss the entire 2016 season because of it.

This could be a huge blow for the Horned Frogs as Nixon was looking to be a big part of their offense this year. He was a four-star member of their 2014 recruiting class and he redshirted his true freshman season.

In 2015, he appeared in all 13 games and made seven starts. He recorded 66 rushing yards and 501 receiving yards with a touchdown.
