Denzel Valentine wins NBA Summer League for Bulls with pair of buzzer beaters

The Chicago Bulls selected former Michigan State guard Denzel Valentine with the final pick in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft. He signed his rookie contract with the team and it already looks like he is proving his worth after last night’s Summer League Championship.

Valentine had a huge showing in the game for the Bulls and he ended up clinching the victory for the team. He hit a buzzer-beating three at regulation to send the game into overtime against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Then, with the game tied at 82 and it looking like a second overtime was on the horizon, Denzel Valentine hit a buzzer-beating shot from the top of the key. This gave the Bulls an 84-82 win in the Summer League, ending their Cinderella-type run just short of the title.

Valentine had a pretty great quote following the big win. He talked about how the league does really matter and took a shot at those who say it doesn’t.

After he helped the team win the championship, I don’t think many can disagree with what he said.
