Report: Dismissed Ohio State RB Bri’Onte Dunn hit, choked ex-girlfriend

On Monday, it was reported that Ohio State fifth-year senior running back Bri’Onte Dunn had been dismissed from the school from an undisclosed violation of team rules. However, it now seems pretty clear why the team let him go.

It was reported later that night that Dunn had been dismissed due to an altercation with his girlfriend.

The Columbus Dispatch reported early Wednesday morning that they had an altercation on Sunday, which led to her calling 911 and telling them that he had a hit and choked her.

Per the report: “Sunday afternoon, the woman, crying uncontrollably, called 911 to say: ‘My boyfriend hit me really bad.’ The woman said that the man struck her in the mouth and then briefly left her apartment on the Northwest Side. She said she left the apartment and came back, and when he saw she had her phone out ‘he went crazy.’ She said he then choked her and left. ‘My lip is bleeding and I have a black eye,’ the woman said.”

Bri’Onte Dunn was one of three running backs fighting for the starting job to replace Ezekiel Elliott this year.

Now, the job will be left to Curtis Samuel and redshirt freshman Mike Weber.
