Video: Tulane surprises walk-on Marshall Wadleigh with scholarship

Tulane football walk-on Marshall Wadleigh got to experience the best moment of his collegiate career this week, when the Green Wave coaching staff surprised the hard-working special teamer for his efforts with a full scholarship.

The program announced the news in a video on Twitter that shows head coach Willie Fritz awarding Wadleigh his scholarship for his senior year.

“This guy came in and worked his tail off and we wanted to help him with his room and board this year, and just recognize how valuable of a student-athlete he is for our football program,” Fritz said in front of his team.

You can see the special moment below:

Throughout his career, Wadleigh has put in the hard work on special teams. Wadleigh has 37 appearances during his career at Tulane with 14 tackles. Congratulations to him for showing an outstanding effort and earning the scholarship from his new coach.

Tulane kicks off its 2016 campaign on the road against Wake Forest on Sept. 1.
