The NFL was rocked with the news that former Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings head coach Dennis Green had passed away due to cardiac arrest Friday morning. It was certainly some shocking news as he was just 67 years old.

Green’s coaching career spanned nearly four decades and saw him spend head coaching stints in the NFL with the Vikings and Cardinals, in the collegiate ranks with Northwestern and Stanford and, most recently, with the United Football League’s Sacramento Mountain Lions. It was big loss for everyone.
He saw his most success in the NFL with the Vikings, where he spent 10 seasons and went 97-62 while taking them to eight playoff appearances and two NFC Championship Games in 1998 and 2000. He went 16-32 with the Cardinals and also had a 26-63 record with the Cardinal and Wildcats at the collegiate level.
Campus Sports would like to send their condolences to the Green family. Rest in peace, Dennis Green.
