Nebraska AD says Cornhuskers are happy in the Big Ten

When the Big 12 announced it was set to begin exploring possible expansion, there were reports that a handful of former programs could potentially be interested in a return.

Well, don’t count on the Nebraska Cornhuskers being one of those options.

After talks of a possible return for Nebraska, athletic director Shawn Eichorst took to social media to quickly put an end to them. Rather than saying the Cornhuskers would be interested in joining the Big 12, Eichorst said the team is a happy and proud member of the Big Ten.

Proud & privileged to be member of the Big Ten-the oldest & best power 5 athletic conference. Excellence = academics, athletics & life. GBR!

Welp, there you have it.

If any former Big 12 team is set to return to the conference, it looks like it would have to be the Colorado Buffaloes.
