Iowa DE Faith Ekakitie has guns pulled on him by police while playing ‘Pokemon Go’

Iowa Hawkeyes defensive end Fath Ekakitie took to social media to open up about a scary situation where he feared for his life.

Earlier this week, Ekakitie says he was mistaken for a bank robber while playing the popular “Pokemon Go” game as he listened to music blaring. Unfortunately, because of his headphones, Ekakitie says he did not hear police initially ask him to turn around and put his hands up.

Then, police officers drew their guns and slowly continued to approach Ekakitie.

It was at that time that the defensive end found himself ” surrounded and searched by approximately five Iowa City Police Officers.”Ekakitie adds his “pockets were checked, my backpack was opened up and searched carefully, and I was asked to lift up my shirt while they searched my waistband.”

Luckily, everyone escaped from the situation unharmed.
