There is some sad news to pass along in the college football world Sunday, with reports that 22-year-old Nebraska Cornhuskers punter Sam Foltz has died at age 22.

Per reports, Foltz passed away in a tragic car accident.

Very few details are available.

Foltz was the Cornhuskers starter for three seasons and was set to enter his fifth season with the program. Foltz averaged 44.2 yards per punt for the Huskers during the 2015 season, en route to earning first-team Big 10 honors.

Earlier this month, Foltz was named to the 2016 Ray Guy Award watch list as one of the top punters in the country.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Foltz family and all of his friends as they deal with this difficult and tragic time.
