Iowa State DB Nigel Tribune arrested for OWI, suspended indefinitely

The Iowa State Cyclones took a hit on Sunday when starting defensive back Nigel Tribune was arrested on three separate charges, including OWI. His arrest led to him being suspended indefinitely from the Cyclones.

Tribune was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with OWI first offense, failure to use headlamps and failure to prove security against liability. Head coach Matt Campbell released a statement and said that his team would not tolerate this kind of behavior while announcing the cornerback being placed on indefinite suspension.

We are aware of the charges filed against Nigel and we are in the process of gathering more information,” Campbell said. “Nigel has been suspended indefinitely from the football team under the student-athlete code of conduct policy.”

Tribune has been a partial starter with the Cyclones for the last three seasons. He has recorded 131 tackles, three for loss, four interceptions and 26 pass deflections while being named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2014.
