Kimbo Slice’s son, Kevin Ferguson Jr., making pro MMA debut at Bellator 160

A little over a month ago, the MMA world was shocked by the sudden passing of backyard fighting icon Kimbo Slice as he passed away due to heart failure. His son, Kevin Ferguson Jr., will do all he can to continue his father’s legacy when he makes his professional debut soon.

Ferguson Jr. is relatively new to the sport of MMA as the 24-year-old only made his amateur debut in March. However, he has done a good job of living up to his father’s name as it was reported by Greg Beacham of the Associated Press that he will make his professional debut at Bellator 160 next month.

“I was always around the fight business and everything, so I saw it and I understood what was going on,” Ferguson told the AP. “I just knew without a doubt that one day, this was what I wanted to do.”

During his amateur debut at Warrior Nation XFA XII, Kevin Ferguson Jr. defeated opponent Tom Brink by TKO in less than two minutes.

Ferguson’s opponent for Bellator 160 hasn’t been revealed yet, but it should be a great event to tune into as it is being headlined by former UFC champion Benson Henderson taking on Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.
