Over the weekend, the lives of Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler were ended far too soon in a tragic car accident.
Since the deaths of the promising young men, there have been countless tributes and friends and family honoring the memory of the men who meant so much to so many. It is clear from some of the stories the past few days that Foltz and Sadler were great people, who went above and beyond to make life better for those around them.
That was again clear when Kevin Sjuts of KOLN/KGIN, who got to know Foltz from covering the Cornhuskers football team, paid tribute to the punter during an on-air segment.
“I can’t think of anyone who would make a better role model for a 7-year-old,” he said while recounting Foltz’s appearance at “Superhero Day” for his son’s first-grade class, “or anyone else, for that matter.”
