As high school football players prepare for their final year before college, the recruiting process is ramping up and top prospects are narrowing their potential list of suitors. The latest player to do so is three-star offensive tackle Mekhi Becton.
On Monday, the Highland Springs (Va.) talent took to Twitter to trim his list to ten.
According to Becton, more than 20 schools had made an offer for his services, so cutting his list to ten should cut down on some of the extra noise as he plans for his future.
“First of all, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the opportunities to have a chance to play at a school I want to play at,” Becton wrote on Twitter. “Second I would like to thank my family, friends and coaches for supporting me throughout this whole process. Third I would also like to thank the schools that have given me the opportunity to play at their school.”
Becton’s list is loaded with teams from the ACC and Big Ten.
His list includes, in alphabetical order, Georgia, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Rutgers, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
