The NFL and Snapchat announced a multi-year extension for their partnership on Tuesday. As part of the extended partnership, the NFL will become the first sports league to appear on “Snapchat Discover.”
For Snapchat users at games, there is also a benefit.
The league and the social media app will be working together to create geofilters for every NFL team and stadium. The filters will be available at NFL stadiums, practice facilities, and other select venues.
“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Snapchat, delivering compelling NFL content to a platform where millions of our fans around the world interact on a daily basis,” said Blake Stuchin, Director, Digital Media Business Development for the National Football League in a statement.
“The launch of the NFL on Discover will provide a key touch point to follow storylines throughout the week, and the expansion of Live Stories will provide fans with a unique perspective of the excitement in and around our stadiums at every game all season-long.”
Snapchat was equally as excited for the extended season in the release.
Since creating the Discover platform, Snapchat has been able to promote a number of high-profile brands. With the NFL now on board, the sky is the limit for one of the most popular apps on the market.
