Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio showed that he is either not a morning person or he doesn’t like getting asked ridiculous questions on a national radio show. He joined “FOX Sports Daybreak” with Mike North and Andy Furman Tuesday morning and his interview lasted a total of about three minutes.
It wasn’t a good encounter for the radio hosts, but the blame can be put on them and not on Dantonio not having a cheery manner. They started off with a pretty straightforward question by asking the coach if Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh had “gotten into” his head.
The hosts continued to dig their hole even deeper by asking why Connor Cook was not named captain ahead of the 2015 season and then if he eats pasta with Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo.
It was a strange series of questions and Dantonio started to get clearly annoyed. He responded to a question about his team not getting the proper amount of respect by taking a shot at the hosts.
“Well you know we’ve been in the top 10 the last three years,” Dantonio said. “I don’t know. You do what you do. I mean you guys are the guys talking out there and you ask questions that sometimes don’t really make a lot of sense.”
Just as the questions started to make a lot of sense, the Spartans head coach got even more annoyed and decided to end the phone call before it went any further.
