The Nebraska football program is dedicating its 2016 season to late punter Sam Foltz, who was tragically killed in a car accident last month along with former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler.
To honor Foltz, the Cornhuskers will be taking the field each and every week with a special “SF27” decal on their helmets.
Nebraska equipment manager Kyle Kotrous shared a photo of the decal on Twitter.

What an incredible gesture by the Cornhuskers.
Foltz was a very influential member of the Nebraska community and it is great to see that his teammates will be carrying his memory on the field with them during what would have been his senior season.
Nebraska opens its 2016 campaign on Sept. 3 against Fresno State.
