Photo: Charlie Villanueva gets tattoo for alopecia awareness

Charlie Villanueva has always been open about his struggle with alopecia and he has served as an advocate for the disease which causes hair loss and is diagnosed in more than 200,000 cases per year in the United States.

Now, Villanueva is taking his advocacy one step further.

Villanueva recently showed off a brand new tattoo that he received as a sign of solidarity to those also living with the disease while raising awareness.

“Did it for my angels. Charlie’s Angels,” Villanueva wrote on Instagram. “Without having Alopecia I don’t know where I would be. Alopecia is a blessing in disguise and it made me who I am today. So What is Alopecia? My purpose in life.”

Villanueva documented his tattoo on social media.

First, it all started with the outline.

Then, Villanueva gave us a look in at the process.

And finally, we got to see the finished product.

That is a tattoo to be proud of.

It’s great to see Villanueva continue to be so active bringing awareness to those living with alopecia while providing everyone with a positive role model to look up to.
