One member of the South Carolina Gamecocks’ impressive Class of 2016 will not be joining the program.
On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Georgia Military College offensive lineman Akeem Cooperwood will no longer be be a member of Will Muschamp’s program due to issues with his academics.
Rivals’ Wes Mitchell shared the news.

The 6-foot-7, 325-pounder was a three-star prospect and is widely regarded as one of the top JUCO offensive linemen in the country.
Along with South Carolina, Cooperwood also held offers from Buffalo, Chattanooga, East Carolina, and Ohio.
There is no word on what the next step will be for Cooperwood, but he has the talent to excel at the FBS level and it will be interesting to see where he ultimately lands as he looks to take his collegiate career to the next level.
