Former Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens standout turned WNBA star Elena Delle Donne is making waves before her appearance in the 2016 Summer Olympics for all of the right reasons.
In the August issue of Vogue, the reigning WNBA MVP publicly came out as gay while revealing Amanda Clifton is her fiancee.
The Vogue profile stated:
…Elena divides her time between traveling with her team, the Chicago Sky, and her family’s home in the rolling green landscape of Wilmington, Delaware. She and her fiancee, Amanda Clifton, keep apartments in both Chicago and Wilmington.
Clifton, who runs basketball camps alongside Delle Done, will be making the trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to cheer on her fiancee.
It is perfect timing for Delle Donne, who is about to step onto the biggest stage in sports.
Congrats to Delle Donne and Clifton on their engagement and best of luck to the MVP and her Team USA teammates during their time in Rio.
