If the Illinois wide receivers have any problem catching passes this year, they may want to take some advice athletic director Josh Whitman. He is excited for the future of Fighting Illini football after the hiring of new head coach Lovie Smith.
On Thursday afternoon, he showed off his impressive hands when the team posted a video of him catching laser-speed passes from a JUGS machine.
It is pretty awesome and I am sure the receivers on the team won’t allow their athletic director to show them up.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to many as Josh Whitman is a former Fighting Illini tight end who also played in the NFL for a short time. However, those balls were coming out pretty quickly and you would think that would be hard even for a player in the NFL today.
Whitman, who is 38 today, last strapped up in the NFL in 2001, but it is pretty clear that he still has some skills.
