It seems like the 2016 NFL offseason has been one of retirements and now you can throw former New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Lance Moore’s name into the hat. Monday morning, he announced his retirement after ten seasons in the league.
Moore has been on the free agent board since being released by the Steelers following the 2015 season until he signed with the Atlanta Falcons last week. He announced his decision to retire on Monday.
Moore was signed in 2006 by the Saints after going undrafted out of Toledo. He spent eight seasons in New Orleans and recorded 4,200 yards and 38 touchdowns. He has 4,816 yards and 44 touchdowns on his career.
You can add another name to the list of retired NFL players this offseason as Moore has decided to call it quits. He was a pretty big piece of the Saints dominance through the late 2000s and his presence will certainly be missed.
