Back in July, Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema confirmed that two players were looking to transfer out of the program. Cornerback Willie Sykes was one of them and he has now found his new home to continue his collegiate career.
It was reported on Tuesday that Sykes has been listed on Texas Tech’s official roster for the start of training camp. An official for the team later confirmed his addition to the team.
Sykes was a three-star member of the Razorbacks’ 2015 recruiting class and played a special teams role in his true freshman season. He will have to sit out the 2016 season and will have three years of eligibility left for the Red Raiders starting in 2017.
He will likely end up playing a big role for the Red Raiders once he is eligible to take the field next year.
