Video: Travis Stevens reaches judo gold medal match with bow and arrow choke

After falling to the eventual gold medalist at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, American judoka Travis Stevens has the chance to win a gold medal of his own in Rio de Janeiro.

On Tuesday, Stevens reached the semifinals by defeating Bulgaria’s Ivaylo Ivanov.

In the semifinal match, Stevens faced off against Avtandil Tchrikishvili of Georgia and looked like a man on a mission. After an aggressive start to the match from Stevens, he was able to roll Tchrikishvili into a vulnerable position to lock in a bow and arrow choke that solidified his spot in the gold medal match.

Here is a look at Stevens’ handy work.

It’s hard not to be impressed by that.

Stevens will now face off against Russia’s Khasan Khalmurzaev in the gold medal match later today. Let’s hope that his impressive run through the tournament finishes off with another win for the United States.
