History will be made in Hawaii during the college football season when Pacific University meets up with Occidental College in a football game on Sept. 17. This game between two NCAA Division III football programs is believed to be the first in history to be played on the islands.
The Boxers will head to Honolulu on Sept. 15-17 for a weekend of fun and team building in a three-day celebration, which begins with the second annual Pacific University Boxer ‘Ohana Golf Tournament. It should be a fun time for all to be had in the state.
The Boxers will face off against Occidental at Kūnuiākea Stadium on the campus of Kamehameha Schools Kāpalama on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. It is appropriate that Pacific University will be playing a game in Hawaii as the university has always had a close relationship with the state.
More than 3,000 Pacific alumni and over 400 current students call the state home. The Boxers have 28 players from the state of Hawaii on their roster, second behind the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.
This will certainly be a fun weekend for Boxer Nation later this year.
