WWE section of ESPN finally arrives

No matter what people may think about professional wrestling, it is very popular in the sports world and ESPN wants to take advantage of that popularity. They have started a weekly segment, hosted by former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman, and now they have officially opened a WWE section on their website.

The company’s new page on their website features everything from recaps of weekly shows Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live to viral videos and rumors, like Conor McGregor possibly taking his talents to the WWE. It gives ESPN an audience that they have likely never seen before.

Professional wrestling fans are sports fans who are mobile, global and passionate,” Chad Millman, ESPN vice president, editorial director, domestic digital content said in a release Thursday. “That’s the audience we’re in the business of serving.”

This new page is also home to Peter Rosenburg’s “Cheap Heat” podcast, which launched in January and is already averaging more than 400,000 downloads per month.

The world of ESPN is changing and it starts with a polarizing event known as sports entertainment.
