WVU OL Adam Pankey arrested for DUI

The West Virginia Mountaineers have one of the best offensive lines in the country this year, but they may have just taken a hit along those lines. three-year starter at guard, Adam Pankey, was arrested late Saturday night on DUI charges.

The Dominion Post reported that Pankey was involved in a scary car accident as his 2008 Chrysler Sebring was found upside down in the early hours on Sunday morning. Emergency medical personnel found Pankey to be okay with just some cuts.

He was not transported to the hospital and police took him into custody after they found he had been under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with DUI after he had a blood alcohol content of .147, almost double the legal limit.

He was later released on $250 bond. The team or school have not yet released a statement on Pankey and how this will affect his playing status.

He has started all 25 games he has played in over the last two years and he played in eight games during his freshman season in 2013. The Mountaineers open the season against the Missouri Tigers.
